“I am going to try to pay attention to the spring.
I am going to look around at all the flowers, and look up at the hectic trees.
I am going to close my eyes and listen.” –Anne Lamott
To live a full and aware life requires mindfulness, which happens when each of us learns to pay attention to the real world around us every day.
Although our annual seasonal calendar has been consistent for millennia and based on our planets rotation to define when Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter begin on particular dates, it does not mean the leaves drop, flowers bloom, heat or snow happen on those dates. The transition takes place over time.
For example, March 20th is the first day of spring, yet this year many trees have started to expose their spring blossoms weeks in advance due to climate change. Did you notice? Have you noticed this early change in each season has been happening earlier and earlier for many years as our planet has begun to warm from man made climate pollution? Each year our average temperatures have been climbing as a result. The science is not in question here. It is real, and it is man made.
Yes, these are troubling times, but knowing and seeing what is happening around us is empowering both to our awareness and our ability to act responsibly.
Add to that, paying attention allows us to increase our appreciation for something we may soon lose should we fail to act to protect our world as we would like it to be.
I create my HDSereneScapes® films to assist in that process for those unable to ‘get out’ and see the beauty of our world, let alone open their awareness to their own peace of mind which comes from being aware of themselves. Much in the same way that meditation does for those not afraid to venture into that process.
Yes we live in dangerous and interesting times, but seeing rather than fearing brings an open mind and clarity to our selves and our options.
So go out, listen, close your eyes and open them as well. We can all work to see the world bloom once again in sync with what we once knew or wish to see again. A world of consistent cycles we can count on that stabilize our environment and grow our appreciation and love of this planet, and one another.
Go in PEACE…
Have Patience, Empathy, Awareness, Compassion and experience Enlightenment…
…even if it is just for a few moments every day.
Then Stand up, Speak out, Fight back and vote with you pocket book and at your polling place.
This is how we renew our world for the better.
